New Students

Dear New Student,

Welcome to the Arizona South Chapter of ASID. We are so glad you have decided to participate in our professional association. As a new student member you will have the opportunity to network and grow with other design industry professionals dedicated to sustaining a vital design community in southern Arizona. There are many ways you can make the most of your membership in our Chapter.

If you like we can assign you a Membership Buddy, a fellow student member who can answer any questions you may have and act as your guide, accompanying you to your first Chapter activities and introducing you to our membership. If you want a Membership Buddy, contact our Student Representative to the Board, Alisa Culp at students@asidtucson.org.

Be sure to read the Chapter’s Bi-Monthly Eblast coming to the e-mail address you provided when you applied for your membership for the latest news from your Chapter Leadership and details on upcoming events and activities.

A great way to get started networking with professional, allied and associate members, as well as student members and other Industry Partners is to attend our Chapter Monthly Meetings. These meetings address a wide variety of topics to help enrich your understanding of the local design industry. Check the calendar of events for upcoming dates, times and topics.

Be sure to join us for our Monthly Mix and Mingle events, a no host happy hour event held at various local Tucson area restaurants from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., the last Thursday of every month. Look for details in the monthly calendar of events on this web site. This is a great way to get to know your fellow members in a relaxed environment. Feel free to bring a guest, other students who you think might be interested in joining our organization.

Make certain you keep all your company contact information updated through the national web site at www.asid.org as this information is what drives the listing you will see on our web site as well. Take time to go through the national web site as there are many benefits available to you as a student member through this resource.

Students are an important membership group whose interests are represented in the business of our organization through the Student Chapters. If you are interested in joining one of our student chapters, please contact Student Rep to the Board Alisa Culp or our Student Affairs Committee Chairperson Jeffrey Tobin at students@asidtucson.org.

There are many other ways to participate, and we hope you will maximize the value of your membership by becoming an active part of the Arizona South Chapter of ASID. If you want to know more about how you can become more involved, volunteer. To learn more, contact me at membership@asidtucson.org or call me at 971-8662.
Sincerely,
Genia Parker
